How to draw humans.
------------------
I'm giving here a little lecture of drawing. I'm not trying to
say this is the only right way or anything like that. I'm just giving
some tips for your use.
First stage of learning to draw realistic humans is to learn the right
dimensions of bodyparts. The nearest model for that is just reading this
text. You can check the right dimensions from your own limbs and face.
(Considering that you are averagely normal human being). Better model
would be girl or boy friend. If you happend to be that lucky. I'm not,
so when I needed to learn anatomy I had to go to the library and loan
a book. For you, I have made a rough sketch (Example.1.IFF). The measure-
ments may not be exatly right. Who cares, we are not making gun powder
here. But the book 'Human Anatomy For Artist' was very good. I think
you should get a hold of book like that. It was full of very good drawings
of bones, skulls, muscles, limbs, heads, tits, dicks and so forth.
Now as we know the right dimensions. We can start drawing. First draw
front and side views. They are the easiest. When you are starting to
master them. You can start changing viewpoints. The key thing to do
is to start from primitives like balls and circles. They are much easier
to handle. (Example.2.iff)
As you can see I have built a human body from simple ovals. If you are
not sure about the angles of joints you can always check from your own
arms and legs. When you are done with the sketching. You can start doing
the detail. Dim the sketch to the background. If you are doing this on
paper draw the sketch very lightly. If you are using DPaint you can
use the light table with spare page. With Brilliance, simply fix the back
ground or use different colour, like I did. Remember that the sketch will
disappear and you have to redraw all the lines you want. (Example.3.iff)
When we are finished with the details, we can delete the sketch. If you
used light-table you just turn it off and the sketch and detail are on
different pages. With fixed background you have to clip the whole picture
as brush. Or if you used two different colours. Use stencil to lock the
detail colour and clear the rest. The result is quite nice. It took me
only about 10 minutes to draw this example. (Example.4.iff)
When picture is in this stage I call it edge-sketch.
Next time we'll see how the colouring is done.

[Notes from Sarek]
I had a look at Jussi's test drawings and i found an Alternative for
Light table is Stencil When Jussi mentions using a darkend spare page
with image peeping through, Brilliance uses'ers can make the darkend
colour into a stencil then draw over it in Light actual colour when
completed you just need to invert the stencil and Delete the darkend
colours! This of course will not effect your final Drawing!
Let me expalain in more Detail, As jussi mentions draw your Primitives
ie Shapes for Heads arms tits arse etc! When you have the look of the
female in shape form pick up the entire picture store it in the brush bank
(I do this two or three times so their is no fuck up!) Now make a nice Mid
range blue in your palette we dont want it to dark or to light as it will
only conffuse matters! Now press f2 to make your blue image outline! Now
Clear the old image and stamp down the new brush on the page which of
course should be blue! When this looks right Click button on Stencil icon
and select the blue colour, Now Active the stencil and you can begin to
draw over the picture in lighter colour without loosing your guide lines
When completed invert the stencil and Delete only the blue colour!
